Brother Barlea accepted Jesus as his personal Saviour in 1980, through the preaching of God's Word. In 1990 the Barleas moved to the Ivory Coast because of the 14 years of civil war in Liberia which killed 250,000 people.
Brother Barlea was enrolled at Ghana Baptist Bible College from 1998-2021 and received an Advanced Diploma in Theology. He also received a Master in Theology after completing distance studies in 2016-2022 through Solid Rock Baptist Seminary in Ghana, as well as a Doctors Degree from Solid Rock Baptist Seminary.
Specific prayer requests the Barleas presently have:
- Please be in special prayer for these: Nimba Military Baptist Church, Gba Military Baptist Church and Levumah Military Baptist Church. These Churches are located in 99% Muslim communities. These churches want to build a lighthouse for Muslims who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour that have been excommunicated from their homes and are sleeping in the church building. $25,000 USD is needed to build the lighthouse.
- Faith Island Military Baptist Church's pastor needs a motorbike to be able to go to church on time. Many days he walks 8 hours to reach the church.
- The Barleas need a four-wheel jeep to enable them to visit local churches and to transport tracts and Bibles to local churches as well as for evangelism.
- Special prayer is needed for the Christian School as Muslim schools have opened with free attendance and are cooking three meals a day for students. Because of poverty, many parents have taken their children from our Christian school.
- We need your prayers for the Bible College. We have more students but no school building. We are currently using the church building.
